If you want to ride a motorbike, make sure you’ve got the correct driving license before you go for your Compulsory Basic Training (CBT).
Otherwise you’ll end up taking it on a 50cc moped rather than a 125cc motorbike. That’s what happened to me yesterday.
Due to an admin error on my license, I had a ‘twist ‘n go’ moped capable of 38mph, rather than a geared motorbike capable of 120mph – and the impatient motorists travelling behind weren’t too happy.

But it’s definitely worth doing.
It’s a bit daunting getting the hang of having two wheels rather than four – but it gives you an idea of the dangers bikers go through every day.
Drivers overtaking and pulling out without checking blind spots are the main problem, but also impatient motorist who try to pass lesser-powered bikes in dangerous situations.
