GT5 gets its gears in motion
A new trailer to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was shown at the Spike Video Game Awards last night, and it’s got us all excited about the PlayStation 3 driving simulator.
Is it some sort of car concept video? Or other footage from real life?
Neither.
The whole clip features real-time graphics, meaning what you see in the trailer is what you’ll see when playing the game.
From the opening Alpha Romeo 159 to the new Audi TT skidding at the end of the clip, there’s enough here to showcase both the likeness of the cars and the PlayStation 3’s processing power.
Earlier in the year we reported on how you can take on the Stig on Top Gear’s test track in the next-generation game.
Gamers will also be able to download and watch 40 episodes of the popular TV motoring show on the PlayStation 3.
More than 40 accurately modelled cars will be available to drive in the game, including the Ferrari F430 and Nissan’s GT-R.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is set to hit UK shelves late 2008, and is released in Japan on December 13 this year.
The price of the PS3 was recently slashed to £299, but would GT5 be enough to sway you to buy one?
Or would you rather play Project Gotham Racing 4 on the X-box 360?
