Mazda 2 beats Audi R8 and rivals to World Car of the Year

The Mazda 2 has been awarded the title 2008 World Car of the Year.
A group of 47 jurors representing 24 countries chose the winner. They said the Mazda 2 had, “very appealing looks and high levels of standard equipment for the price.”

No more dodging EU speeding fines

Foreign drivers will no longer be able to avoid speeding fines in the UK after a deal was struck with the European Commission yesterday.
It also means UK drivers are more likely to be fined if caught speeding in an EU nation.
