Gran Turismo 5 Prologue hits the shelves on 28th March. The new instalment in the popular Gran Turismo franchise offers a realistic driving simulation with five pixel-perfect tracks and 71 car models, including the Audi R8, Nissan GT-R and Ferrari F430.
Will the new PlayStation 3 racer leave the competition in the dust?
Forza Motorsport 2 (Xbox 360) is still an exhilarating game with more than 300 cars to choose from. You can even download the latest cars, tracks and tournaments online.
Fans of arcade-style racing will feel at home with Project Gotham Racing 4, with its abundance of supercars battling across real-life city streets, from Tokyo to New York. It focuses more on drifting than Forza and GT5, and rewards you for driving with skill.
Other great pick-up-and-play racers include Need for Speed: ProStreet on all consoles and Sega Rally for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The classic Colin McRae Rally series is still a contender for the rally driving game crown, with Colin McRae DiRT available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Some driving games boast more than just racing. EA’s Burnout Paradise gives you the freedom of driving around a city with no direct aim, leaving you to perform trials, races and upgrades at your leisure.
The Granddaddy of all driving games minus the racing has to be Grand Theft Auto, with its enjoyable, notorious missions and complete freedom of movement. Watch out for the latest incarnation, GTA IV, out next month on Xbox 360 and PS3 (picture below).
Which driving game is your favourite and what are you most looking forward to?

well to be honest, prologue only means an “introductiont to play”
so id rather wait for the real game to come out.
likewise in the prologue, because it is only a intro there will be many things you dont have access too.
I personally would rather wait for the offical full game to come out.

GT5 looks great, graphics now even more realistic in HiDefinition, unfortunately I cant experience the full effect as my Thrustmaster Universal 5in1 steering wheel doesn’t seem to work correctly. So bare this in mind if you are in the market for a Wheel to play this on the PS3. If I had a choice again i would go for a Logitech, they seem fully compatible.

First off, this game is well made. Although after playing it once, I was very disappointed with the results. They start by giving you $35,000 to purchase a car. I purchased the Mazda and was happy with it. But it is not fast enough to win a race, the turning is sloppy on this game as well. When you drift into the sand, its is very hard to gain back the traction and get back on course I am not going to return it because I will play it again and try to become better, but for now it totally sucks.
