Always good to hear what the most reliable cars are but can you confirm what dates these figures cover? I was wondering if a 2006 MX-5 is still under the 3 years manufacturers warranty why would anyone use warranty direct to cover it unless they do the warranty for Mazda of course. Are the figures for the old model?

I have a Rover 25. I know I need not say much else, but on the first day of having it ( from new ), the central locking broke ( had to be replaced ), new head at 12k, new clutch, new engine management system at 6k, tracking was a country mile out when new, - lots of other faults, including this week, you guessed it, a head gasket. Rubbish.

Apologies - was a typing error. "Higher" should have read "lower" - all amended!

As for the index ratings, these are the top ten most reliable cars in the UK according to Warranty Direct, using data they compiled from claims information.

Hope this helps!

Is it just me or does this list not make sense?

You say "the average is 112 – the higher the more reliable the car"

If that's the case why is the Nissan Almera in the top 10 when it scores just 2.9?

And why is the Accord No.1 when the Subaru Forester has a higher rating than it?
