Auto Trader has delved into the inspiration behind some well-known cars and found out some surprising things.
Who would have thought the dashboard in a Toyota Auris is based on arches found at the Notre Dame cathedral? Or that the Jaguar XK pays homage to Kate Winslet?

The current Renault range was inspired by the drawings of mental chimps! Also the gawping Peugeot grille was based around a portrait of Leslie Ash! All of this is pathetic… we need to go back to the days when an engineer could sit down and design a car that looked like a shark, without some spiky haired health and safety nut saying “no you can’t do that, pedestrians might get injured… what you need is a stupid short bonnet about 4 foot off the ground and impact zones made out of wheelie bins”.
