I do wish this was a more retro, classic and passionate design, as it will be a very forgettable car.

Steepo – have you really owned a Ferrari? Ooooooooh. Can I be your boyfriend?

I actually do think that the front doesnt look as aggresive as Ferraris’ have done so. Quite resembles a Maserati (referring to the grill section, as well as the vents on the sides).

There is also something about the rear that lacks that smooth and sporty look – It sort of looks like a cartoon character – a potatoe face that seems a little grumpy and sad. I presume that the rear is as wide as ferraris’ usually are, yet it doesnt look like it really is. Something “VW Passat” and “Saloon car” about it.

Ofcourse it is still a stunning car, but when we make criticisms (Steepo), we have to put things in perspective, and try to remain as objective as we can, and certainly comment baring into mind other Ferrari models. Which as they are so well engineered (in every way), can indeed set the bar very high, and thus promote strict and thorough comparisons, as well as influence us to expect very high standards in all aspects of design, engineering and performance with the Ferrari marque.

Compared to the Superamerica (? – the one that looks like a 575 without its roof) it does appeal more, but it doesn’t do it for me. A tad disappointing really.

Either way the Yanks will lap it up. If I had the money, it would be a 599 all the way

It’s a very safe design, I’m not suprised at all that is shares the f430 engine even if it state’s as being “new”
I do feel that the dutch take on the original 250gto based on the 599 has created some inspiration, but sadly I do feel that the design of the California falls short of past model’s timeless looks, I feel it will age quickly. Those exhausts are …………… interesting. I’ll reserve judgment until I catch one in the flesh.
