I hate the fact that everybody automatically targets transportation as a source of all global warming, especially when I read quotes like this:
" There is no dispute at all about the fact that even if punctiliously observed, (the Kyoto Protocol) would have an imperceptible effect on future temperatures -- one-twentieth of a degree by 2050."
The fact is that human contribution to global warming is a minuscule and frankly insignificant fraction of the natural sources of green house gases, so why tax us to death? Because the government want to make money, simple as that. They pull the wool over everyone’s eyes with their "green movement" and the worst thing is that people soak it up and believe it! Why does everybody in this country bend over and take it? We as Brits have no backbone any more. If the human race were really bothered about our contributions to global warming we would be restricting the primary causes such as China’s manufacturing plants. I think I shall be doing what thousands are doing and leaving this mess what they call a country.

i dont think superlorries are suitable for our roads. i am a lgv1 driver myself, some of the roads we have to drive on now are not suitable for our present vehicles. as for cutting down on co2 emissions the government needs to cut down on the amount of eu vehicles on our roads, not only the safety aspect (accidents) but to safeguard our industry, but also liase with truck manufacturers to make more eco friendly vehicles.
