The BMW 3 Series – Auto Trader’s most searched-for car

It’s the car which turned BMW into a giant; it’s one of the UK’s most popular motors – and it’s the most searched for car on Auto Trader.

The BMW 3 Series is one of the most popular cars in the UK thanks to its combination of outstanding handling, excellent build quality and the famous blue and white badge on the bonnet.

And since June 2007 to date, you have clocked up more than 30 million searches for the baby Beemer on Auto Trader – making it the site’s number one most searched for used car.

The BMW 3 Series traces its history back as far as the mid 1960s when its predecessor – the 1600 to 2002 Series – proved a big hit for the German giant.

And with each successive generation, the BMW 3 Series has gone from strength to strength – including the hardcore BMW M3 models.

We drove the current generation BMW 3 Series – Auto Trader Web Editor Adrian Higgins raved about the car’s handling and performance: “It’s easy to see why with a package which involves great driving, performance, economy, safety and practicality.”

Have you owned a BMW 3 Series? Would you buy a BMW 3 Series? What makes them so popular?
