I have been feeling sorry for David in recent years, as I think he has the lower hand as far as the car is concerned. He is still a fantastic driver, just he needs the right car. I will be sad to see 1 of only 3 of our Brits in F1 retire.

I guess it will be goodbye to another gentleman of the sport. He must be in the list for best driver not to win the Driver Championship along with Stirling Moss.

It’s good to know though that he will still be involved and continue to make use of his extensive experience within the paddock as I think that the sport really needs to keep people like David to help navigate through all of the changes planned for the 2009 season. So from a fellow Scot, all the very best, and thank you for all the entertainment that you have given us since ’94.
