Volkswagen Golf GTi
The new Volkswagen Golf has already provoked quite a debate on the Auto Trader Blog – but what about the hot version, the renowned VW Golf GTi?
It’s got a 2-litre turbocharged engine with 207bhp and does the 0-62mph dash in 6.9 seconds. The sixth-generation Golf GTi hits a top speed of 150mph. But is it cool enough to carry on the legacy of the iconic original Golf GTi? Vote and have a look at more pictures below.

love this car, the interior is very striking, definatly a great looking car, the golf gti has always been a little more suttle than its procedors but i think its always looked the part, and the ford focus st/rs is a bit too boy racer, honda civic type r, well thats slower than its old model…
Agreed, pretty samey and boring looking. Although its faster than the previous versions it leaves you feeling a little un-enthused with its clinical styling and design. In my opinion you have to be insane to buy a 20 grand car that shouts at you every time its got a small amount of fuel or its 4 degrees outside..
The new mk6 golf gti is spot on in every way! From engine, performance and styling. It keeps its roots goin back to the mk1 how many other car manufacturers have these roots in this class? Also its look arent boy racer but still keeps the mean look of race me and you will lose. The price is good aswell for that precision german faultless engineering. vorsprung durch technik! Ordering mine tomorrow!
Do I want one? Yes. Is it cool? Well, maybe a little, but the understated nature of the Golf GTI is making it seem a little boring in this market.
If subtlety is your thing then maybe the Mk6 GTI is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but surely a hot hatch should be just a bit more SHOUTY than this?
