Ferrari 458 Italia – we can’t wait

Ferrari 458 Italia

Anytime a new Ferrari is announced it’s big news, but the 458 Italia is particularly exciting.

Performance cars have been getting bigger and heavier for years: the ultimate hypercar, the Bugatti Veyron weighs almost two tonnes.

The 458 Italia is a flyweight by comparison, weighing just 1,300kgs, and uses a relatively small 4.5-litre V8 with not a single turbocharger.

Capable of revving to 9,000rpm and producing 562bhp, it’s easy to imagine how incredible it will sound and how sensitive its throttle will be.

With all this power sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed DSG-style gearbox, this is going to be on heck of a drivers’ car.

It has been honed by Michael Schumacher after all.

On a runway it probably won’t see which way a Veyron went. But on track I think it will be the other way around.

Let us know what you think of the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Fantastic looking car. Cant wait to see it in action the 4.5L v8 looks rather impresive and 0-62 in 3.4 seconds will make it a very desirable car.

This car is beautiful, I’d go so far as to say it’s the best looking Ferrari ever. The 360 was an amazing looking car – The front intakes on that were imitated by 75% of the cars on the road today.
The F430 never looked as groundbreaking more a dare i say it ‘slightly ugly’ evolution of the 360. But this! This makes me feel how I did when I first saw a Ferrari back in the 1970′s – Like a kid again!
