Have you been in a “crash for cash” accident?

Not all car crashes are really accidents

Not all car crashes are really accidents

Drivers are being warned about a rise in ‘crash for cash’ accidents.

Criminals are believed to make £350 million per year from the scams by tricking drivers into crashing into them, then making an insurance claim.

Have you been a victim of one of these scams?

One common method used by criminals to cause accidents is to brake suddenly when another car is close behind.

Scammers have also been known to swerve in front of other cars and even disconnect their brake lights to provoke accidents.

One driver was jailed for four-and-a-half years after single-handedly causing 93 separate accidents.

Last year it is believed there were up to 22,000 staged accidents. The huge cost to insurance companies results in higher premiums for law-abiding drivers.

What do you think can be done to stop ‘crash for cash’ accidents? Have you been involved in one? Share your views using the form below.

  1. A low semen volume analysis examines some characteristics of a male’s semen and the amount of sperm found in the semen fluid volume. It may be done while investigating a couple’s infertility or maybe after a vasectomy to verify that the procedure was done successful. It is also used for testing some of the donors for ejaculation fluid donation. Nowadays it is possible to increase sperm with absolutely safe ways like taking natural pills from the many online shops.

End of July i went into the back of someone, its still under investigation as the driver has had 4 accidents in the past 12 months of similar description.

It is interesting reading others replies, as recently after my accident i also got random text messages saying i’d been involved in an accident and could claim, yet the only people i gave my personal number to was the third party.

i’ve learnt to take photo’s of other drivers now because the person who is claiming against me along with 2 other is 54 years old, yet the driver i hit was in his late 20′s along with 2 friends.

    Please be careful drivers!!

  3. Brilliant website I shall bookmark it and come back later.

  4. Such webmasters try to apply articles from free content directories to make visitors to their website and make some money. This is mostly large for those who have only begun working as an affiliate for individual companions and do not yet have any support, yet need to improve small niche sites to visitants to their internet site so that they can start out making gross.

  5. I’d point out that before a motorist is put into such a position, one can start by asking friends and neighbors about their mechanic(s) and perhaps a referral, which could help reduce the necessity of sniffing out this dishonest policies.

  6. Thanks for your fantastic work in writing! This article is above and beyond others i have seen on this subject. Thank you very much for your help in helping me understand this subject.

Amazing what someone will do to make money. I would think it would be incredibly difficult to prove such a case unless the driver that caused the crash has a prior record. Being in a car crash is stressful enough.

  8. Hey definitely enjoyed reading the blog. Thought i’d send my thanks!

    Hi,

i have had accident not long ago.

I was selling furniture thru gumtree. Offered that I can deliver locally (have a van). Buyer told me to follow him to place where we should pick up some other furnitures and then deliver to his address.

Crash was when hi stopped suddenly and sharply at a big roundabout just after joining, causing me to crash into him. He was explaining that he stopped for ambulance, but me or even my passenger didn’t seen any!

He and his passenger didn’t want any medic or other help even when i stopped small ambulance just to check my passenger (chest pain).

few day later i received letters that both driver and his passenger “suffering” for back pain and something else and claiming for money…

and one thing: same day my passenger received text that can claim to 3750 pounds from insurance…

my van was written off.. had probblems with getting to work and many more… and they didnt pay for furnitures and didn’t bother to pick them up..
