Audi has just announced it will be equipping its new A8 saloon with the kind of tech that turns anyone with an iPhone weak at the knees.
When the car goes on sale next year, you’ll be able to integrate Google Maps into its sat-nav. And that means anything that you search with it on your computer, you’ll be able to find on your sat-nav.
Theoretically, at least.
The trouble is, the car doesn’t have an internet connection (although I’m sure that will be the company’s next move), so you need a mobile phone with an internet connection.
And judging by previous bills I’ve received, unless you’re on a contract with unlimited data usage, you’ll need to pawn the A8 to pay the phone company.
But I’m not knocking the technology, and we’ll be among the first to try it out when we review the 2010 Audi A8 in the new year.
