Twitter spoils our supercar-engined saloon fun

Supercars are great in theory, but using one every day in practise is tricky. They’re too flash, too cramped, too low, too thirsty…the list goes on.

So when we heard about the possibility of Lexus wading into battle against the BMW M5, Audi RS6 and Mercedes E 63 AMG, we got interested quickly.

Then the rumourmill spat out insider info about the the Lexus GS F – which if its built, would be the big brother to the Lexus IS F – being powered by the same engine as the Lexus LF-A.

A four-door saloon with a V10 from a £300,000 hypercar is the stuff dreams are made of.

But Lexus Europe has scotched these rumours in just 106 characters on Twitter:

“Many rumours flying on Lexus GS F V10. Not going to comment on those. Only that LFA V10 is bespoke to LFA.”

So we’re no nearer to knowing if the GS-F will be built. But if it does, we know what engine it won’t have.
