If you’ve missed out on the scrappage scheme, Toyota’s cunningly-named Swappage scheme could be of interest.
The car industry giant is offering owners of W, X, Y, 51, 02 or 52 (seven to ten-year old cars) £2,000 off a new Avensis, Verso, Yaris or Auris until March 31.
Toyota claims it’s a smart decision thanks to its cars being more reliable, cleaner, more efficient and safer than your ageing trade-in.
With the scrappage scheme ending on February 28, expect more manufacturers to follow Toyota’s lead in the coming months and introduce their own unofficial scrappage schemes.
