Orange Seat Leons: wait for one, two come at once

When I specced out my new long termer, I thought the bright Lumina Orange paintwork with black alloys would be a rarity on the road.

I’d seen plenty of lairy-coloured Leons before, but hardly any orange – in fact, so few have been sold, Seat are about to drop the colour from the options list.

So when I rocked up at Ferrari’s Graypaul Birmingham dealership earlier this week, you could imagine my surprise when an identical car turned up.

That’s identical paint, alloys, interior, audio system, engine/chassis combo. In fact the only difference was my car’s doppelganger doesn’t pack the bright xenon headlamps I have.

I have no problem being seen with someone wearing near identical clothes, but a carbon-copy car? That’s a problem for me.

The only saving grace was mine was cleaner.
