Jaguar XF
With high performance, beautiful looks and a fine interior – a lucky group of traffic cops in Staffordshire, Mercia and the West Midlands are sure to be smitten with their seven new Jaguar XFs.
Fitted with the high-tech 3-litre Diesel S engine, they’ll have a rather handy 275bhp and plentiful pulling power at their disposal.
Acceleration from 0-62mph takes 5.9 seconds – the same as a Ford Focus RS – and the top speed is limited to 155mph.
Fitted with a Home Office-spec ‘Police pack’, there are more than 3,600 flashing LED lights, so you are sure to see the UK’s coolest police cars coming.

Do they really need these, I think not. Maybe they should give the push bikes so they can patrol the streets.
beware of speeding!!
In 06 I bought a smart for 2 petrol,700cc 6speed .55-60mpg around town and at least 70mpg on motorways, marvellous, In 08 I bought a smart for 2 petrol 1ltr 5speed 42mpg combined, it was rubbish. April 2010 I bought a smart for 2 diesel, so far 54mpg, it is supposed to do 85mpg, which being the smallest car available one would imagine it should do 85mpg. I think the manufacturers are conning the public into buying cars with inflated fuel figures and if cars are tested on a rolling road to attain normally unattainable fuel figures, the test needs changing now, personally I think the problem with the smart is the 5 speed gearbox, it is always over revving hence the high fuel consumption.
Be a bit of a bummer being handed the keys to an astra when that’s on your shift!!
Ha! A bad day to go joy-riding when this is on patrol!
Emits just 179g/km – a 10 percent reduction in CO2. Conforms to EU5 emission regulations using conventional exhaust after-treatment. This is what we need nowadays!
What’s wrong with the Evo 10 or Impreza 330STI? Both surely more suited to the job and cheaper. Waste of cash.
Not a bad reason to join the force lol
