Meet the Renault Zoe

Renault Zoe

Renault seems to have caused uproar in its home country with its new electric car – the Zoe.

It appears naming the Renault ‘Zoe’ has gone down as well in France as if they’d marketed it as the Renault Thierry in Ireland. Continue reading

A bit of research dug up that Mercedes have been quite popular among world leaders who, you might say, had weak morals. Continue reading

What do you want to see on Top Gear?

Ultima GTR blitzes Top Gear track - News image
Last week we reported on the Ultima GTR which unofficially broke the Top Gear lap record when it managed a time of 1 minute 9.9 seconds.

V8 Renault Twingo: stupid but I want one

Image 4 of 14 Renault Twingo V8
French tuner Lazareth has shoehorned a 3.5-litre V8 engine into a previous generation Renault Twingo.
And then giving it the one of the most outrageous bodykits known to man – it’s unashamedly fantastic and pointless in equal proportions.

There was drama in Wimbledon town centre today after a moped and Peugeot 306 were involved in a collision.

Coulthard buys his own F1 trophies

coulthard I’ve just spent the day visiting the McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey for a tour of the complex.

You can read all about my experience at the MTC next week but one particular story got my attention when viewing McLaren’s extensive trophy collection.

When Lewis Hamilton wins an F1 race he doesn’t get to keep the trophy. McLaren see it as a victory, not just for the champ but for the 1,200 employees based at the Woking setup.

Ford Focus RS or save £14k and get a Suzuki Swift Sport?

Ford Focus RS and Suzuki Swift Sport

Ford Focus RS and Suzuki Swift Sport

I’ve had a Suzuki Swift Sport on long-term loan for the past six months and I’m quite keen on the little hot hatch.

As with the Renault Twingo Renaultsport and Fiat 500 Abarth, the Swift is a cracking little car.

It’s not rapid, but 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 124mph is more than adequate if you’re looking for a cheap thrill.

Audi R8: the car for the stars

Auto Trader is selling Girls Aloud stunner Cheryl Cole’s old Audi R8.
That’s right; you can buy the supercar of the moment which used to be driven around by woman of the moment.
But in celeb circles, it’s not just ‘The Tweedy’ who has been fortunate enough to own the 187mph Audi R8 – it’s fast becoming the car of choice for those who appear in Heat and on the back pages.
Footballers, musicians and actors have all fallen for the charm of Audi’s first full-on supercar and you can see why.
It looks stunning. Its main rival is the Porsche 911 but no one bats an eyelid when one of them drives past because they’re so common.
The Audi R8, however, is still a breath of fresh air – muscular, aggressive and great sounding. It puts the Porker to shame.
Celebrity owners in the UK and across the pond have included:
Cheryl Cole
Jay Leno
Robert Downey JR
Cristiano Ronaldo
Anderson
Simon Le Bon
Pete Wentz
Lauren Conrad
David Hasselhoff
David Furnish
Robbie Fowler
Michael Gambon
Dirk Kuyt
Seal and Heidi Klum
Jay Kay
Howard Donald
Gary Barlow
Louis Saha
Kerry Katona
Petr Cech
Stephen Ireland
Micah Richards
Felipe Caicedo
Jason Statham
Ian Wright
Rupert Penry-Jones
Audi has sold 1,500 R8s in the UK since the car went on sale in 2007 – meaning 1.2% of all British-based R8 buyers have a famous face.
Would you like to join the Audi R8 club? Auto Trader currently has 84 models for sale.
