The Auto Trader Easter Thunderball at Santa Pod Raceway is  an unashamed spectacle of 300mph Top Fuel Dragsters, car-crushing Monster Trucks and live-action arena stunts.

You’ll get to see Europe’s only “Nitro Shootout” with 300mph Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro Funny Cars going head to head. Piloted by Europe’s top Drag Racing talent, these 8000bhp machines accelerate from 0-100mph in less than 1 second! Add in over 20 more race classes inc 200mph Drag Bikes, the Wheelie Car and truck, a Rocket Bike, and the famous 270mph Jet Car – the kids won’t want to go home!

Off-track action is equally as exciting with loads of entertainment aimed squarely at families looking for a great day out. Attractions include car crushing Monster Trucks, Freestyle Motocross, Live Action Arena stunts and displays, funfair rides, kid’s sideshows plus full catering and bar facilities. Easter Monday is Monster Truck Madness day with 4 trucks in the crush-off!

Johnny Herbert’s Fiat 500 for sale

A 1972 Fiat 500 previously owned by the much-loved British Formula 1 racing driver, Johnny Herbert is up for sale on Auto Trader.

Herbert is well-known for his cheerful and boisterous character but his career was blighted by more than its fair share of bad luck – finishing a number of races early (often through no fault of his own) and in 1988 he endured one of the worst accidents ever seen in the F3000 where he sustained serious injuries to both his feet and ankles. Incredibly, he recovered to make his Formula 1 debut only 7 months later. 

Now for the car, The Fiat 500 was produced between 1957 and 1975 and its quirky looks and practicality made it popular throughout Europe. 50 years on from the introduction of the original, Fiat previewed a brand new Fiat 500 in March 2007. It’s been a huge success in the UK – Auto Trader Owner Reviewers rate it  highly too, awarding it an average of 4.6 out of 5!

Citroen WRC charger, Sébastien Loeb has notched up his sixth straight WRC title in style at the Rally of Great Britain.

Deputy Editor Stuart Milne and myself were at the World Touring Cars at Brands Hatch this weekend.

We had both been looking forward to the main event as well as the return of Formula 2 racing to the historic track.

Tragedy struck yesterday when 18-year-old driver Henry Surtees died following a freak accident after he had achieved a podium finish the previous day.

Henry, son of motor racing legend John, was knocked unconscious after being struck by a tyre mid-race, before being flown from the scene by helicopter.

The thoughts of Stuart, myself and the Auto Trader team are with the family.

BMW X5M and X6M: Brilliant – but the wrong M cars?

No it’s not a belated April fool. In the middle of an economic meltdown BMW has decided now’s the time to reveal its first M-powered 4x4s with the X5M and X6M.

With 555bhp, these super-SUVs are ridiculously powerful and with a 0-62mph time of 4.7 seconds they are also very quick.

Which of the Sultan’s 3,000 cars would YOU blag?

Forget his 1,788 room mansion. Forget the private aeroplane with gold-plated furniture. Forget his Oxford Law degree – this man has more than 3,000 cars. THREE THOUSAND.

If driven all at the same time, his planet-eating collection would melt the polar icecaps and suck the ozone layer by Christmas. Probably.
